Here is the final poster for our short film, we have carried through the design of the draft poster which I designed.
We have kept the conventions of the previous draft as we thought it represented our film well and doesn't give too much away.
In terms of what I have changed from the draft they are as follow:
- I have made the title larger font to ensure it really stands out from a distance and it is the first thing the audience read on the poster. Also i have add an inner shadow which gives suits the layout and ensures it blends in too the dark background.
- Film production logos have been placed at the bottom to ensure it looks professional, we chose to pick British producers as this is a British independent film and would not have big name company's included (Warner bros).
- The images of both characters (Curtis & Danielle) have been replaced by images which have the correct mise en scene i.e the body language, facial expression, lighting, costume that suits our short film.
- The credits block has been resized and edited so that it has the right credit within it.
- The images of the house has also been replaced by the actual house we had in our short film to justify a link between the poster and the short film appropriately as for the draft I simply just added an image of a house from google images to provide an example of the placement and design.
- The font type of the actors has been adjusted by removing the italic font style as this made it look like an action movie of which it is not.
Any thoughs from the rest of the group on this poster?
